Annual Colorado Ag Classic sets schedule

Colorado

The annual Colorado Ag Classic will be held Dec. 10 and 11 at the Thomas M. McKee Building at The Ranch in Loveland, Colo. The fourth annual Colorado Ag Classic is the joint convention of the Colorado Association of Wheat Growers, the Colorado Corn Growers Association, Colorado Sunflower Administrative Committee, Colorado Sorghum Producers, Colorado Seed Growers Association, Colorado Seed Industry Association, and this year will also include the National Sunflower Association.

The convention theme is "Together We Achieve More." The convention will begin on the evening of Dec. 10 with a reception and legislative program featuring key members of the Colorado House and Senate Agriculture Committees, dinner, and an auction to benefit CAWG and CCGA's state and national legislative efforts.

Agriculture Commissioner John Stulp will kick off the General Session on the morning of Dec. 11, followed by U.S. Senator Ken Salazar (invited). Keynote speaker Al Ambrose will wrap up the morning session with his talk on "Open Markets, Economic Growth and Prosperity--The Luckiest Generation."

Breakout sessions on Dec. 11 include presentations on the 2008 farm bill, grain marketing, wind energy, biomass, water courts, and carbon credits.

A trade show will also take place during the Ag Classic. Representatives from agricultural businesses from around the state will be present to answer questions on their products.

More information on registration and hotel costs, the Colorado Ag Classic, and program details is available at www.coloradowheat.org.
