The day will feature presentations by noted agricultural economist Ron Plain, plus K-State research updates, a technology trade show and an open house and tailgate party at the university's new swine finishing facility. Attendees can view the new building, socialize with fellow producers and enjoy hospitality with a K-State BBQ. The facility was just completed, providing an opportunity to hold an open house before pigs start filling the barn shortly after Swine Day. Free parking is available at the university's swine farm, with a complimentary shuttle available all day to the Alumni Center, said Joel DeRouchey, livestock specialist with K-State Research and Extension. The swine farm is located at 3101 College Avenue, just north of the poultry and dairy units on Marlatt Ave., in north Manhattan. Limited parking is available at the Alumni Center for a $4 fee.
