McCook Farm & Ranch Expo visitors can meet NFR qualifier Steven DentNebraska Steven Dent, two-time National Final Rodeo qualifier, is a special guest of the first-ever McCook Farm & Ranch Expo. Dent has consented to sign autographs on both days of the regional agriculture trade show at the Red Willow County Fairgrounds. Rodeo fans may visit him from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Nov. 19 and again from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nov. 20. Dent currently resides in Mullen, Neb. He has competed in both bareback and saddle bronc riding since joining the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association in 2006. He qualified for the WNFR in 2007 in 11th place . The 5-foot 9-inch, 170 pound cowboy attended Ranger (Texas) College and claims his favorite event is saddle bronc riding. Ironically, he is most consistent in bareback riding. He is the son of Steve and Erin Dent, who own a 12,000 acre ranch north of Mullen. The elder Dent is a former PRCA competitor. A successful high school career included football, wrestling, track and field and rodeo for the younger Dent. His rodeo career highlights include the most recent 91-point ride he made on Calgary Stampede's Knight Rocket in the Shootout Round at RodeoHouston (Texas) bareback event. That ride earned him $53,500. He also recently won at Caldwell (Idaho) Night Rodeo and Dodge City (Kansas) Roundup Rodeo. Western Nebraska rodeo fans will enjoy visiting with Dent about his various rookie experiences as well as his more recent professional highlights during the McCook Farm & Ranch Expo. 11/10/08 Date: 11/5/08 Advertisement
