ClarificationDue to incorrect information received by Kansas Wheat in regards to late wheat planting options for crop insurance, we incorrectly reported that farmers have 25 days from the USDA Risk Management Agency Final Wheat Planting date to complete planting and maintain some federally-subsidized crop insurance coverage for the 2009 wheat crop. According to RMA, farmers actually have 15 days after the final planting deadline to complete wheat planting; thereafter, coverage is voided. Any questions about crop insurance coverage and late- or preventive-planting options should be referred to crop insurance agents. Kansas Wheat regrets the error. 11/10/08 Date: 11/6/08 Advertisement
