2009 Integrated Resource Management books now availableU.S. cattlemen are keeping better records than ever on the animals they're raising. Helping in this effort for more than 20 years has been the Integrated Resource Management Redbook from the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. The 2009 version of the book is now available. These pocket-size record books provide an effective way for cattlemen to keep better production records and enhance profitability of their operations. The Redbook provides more than 100 pages to record calving activity, herd health, pasture use and cattle inventory, plus an annual calendar and notes/address section. The primary use of the IRM Redbook is to record calving information and daily production activities. The Redbook also offers special features such as body condition, scoring section, summary of death loss section, calving section and a cattle treatment record section, with Beef Quality Assurance national guidelines and proper injection technique information. Many cattlemen have found the Redbook helps them maintain records that establish eligibility for added value marketing programs. Cost of the IRM Redbooks is $5.95 each, plus shipping. Customization is available on orders of 100 books or more at a reduced rate. For information on the IRM Redbook, visit the NCBA website at www.beefusa.org.
