Tulsa livestock market reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,885 head April 28, compared to 1,627 head last week and 2,201 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, steer calves were $3 to $5 higher. Feeder steers were $2 to $3 higher. Heifer calves and feeder heifers were $2 to $3 higher. There was very good demand for weaned cattle and a good attendance of buyers. Weigh-ups were mostly average. Higher instances of No. 1 grading cattle. Receipts included of 44% steers, 43% heifers, 11% bulls, with 22% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 246 cows and bulls sold with 42% going to packers.
