South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending April 25, showed receipts of 1,700 feeder lambs, 300 slaughter lambs, and 300 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder lambs were steady. There were no slaughter ewes. Replacement ewes were not tested. Slaughter meat goats were steady. Trading and demand were moderate. Numbers of available feeder lambs are increasing but still remain below most normal years. Feeder lambs: Texas, 1700 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, new crop 70 to 90 lbs., 114.00 to 115.00. Slaughter lambs: Texas, 300 head, Good and Choice 1 to 2, hair lambs, 45 to 50 lbs., 110.00. Slaughter meat goats: Kids, Texas, 300 head, Selection 1 to 2, 50 to 55 lbs., 115.00. 5/5/08 Date: 5/1/08
