Kansas Limousin breeders hold 16th annual spring saleKansas The Kansas Limousin Breeders Association hosted its 16th Annual Spring Sale on April 6 at the Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., in Salina. There were many Limousin breeders and commercial cattlemen attending this event. Ralph Frazee, Koster Cattle, Steve Schneider, and Warta Ranch were the volume buyers, all buying four lots each. The Kansas Limousin Breeders Association managed the sale, and the auctioneer was Bruce Brooks. The top selling bull was Lot #21 a spring yearling bull, LEON Annapolis 727T offered by Leishman Performance Limousin of Blair, Neb. This March 26, 2007 son of Master Brun Anapolis 612R was bought by LW Ranch of Ellsworth, Neb., for $2900. A 1/2 brother, Lot #23 LEON Black Anapolis 732T was the 2nd highest selling spring yearling and went to Jerry Frees of Raymond for $2,600. In the fall yearling category, Lot #9 JANC 696S a Oct. 4, 2006 double black and polled son of EXLR Blacksea was consigned by J and C Cattle of Baldwin and bought by Bernie Johnson of Assarai for $2,500. Ralph Frazee and Koster Cattle, a volume buyer, won the bid at $2,400 on the second highest selling fall yearling bull. Rolf Limousin, Leroy consigned Lot #11 LFRO Six Shooter a Oct. 24, 2006 red double polled son of Wulfs Nobel Prize. Scott Sigle of Osborne bought the highest selling 2-year-old bull and 2nd highest selling bull overall for $2,650. Lot #5 PTAL Samson 615S, a May 1, 2006 black double polled son of AUTO Viagra, was offered by Pine Tree Acres Limousin, Parker. Mark Goeckel bought Lot #1, offered by Beikmann Land and Limousin, Linn, for $2,550. This double black and double polled bull was a Feb. 10, 2006 son of Wulfs Guardian. In the open heifers, Lots 33,24 and 25 all brought $1,450 each. Rolf Limousin consigned Lot 33 LFRO Tango a May 21, 2007, double black and polled daughter of AUTO Diesel Power and she went to Evan Warta (Warta Ranch) of Ellsworth. OT Farms of Ft. Scott consigned Miss America 13S, a red polled embryo daughter of MAGS Kaptain America and she went home with volume buyer Steve Schneider. Lot #25 PTAL Taboo 703S a daughter of JCL Lodestar and was consigned by Pine Tree Acres Limousin and went to Sand Creek Farms of Moundridge. Crow Cattle Company of Holt, Mo., sold the top selling spring bred female, Clear Creek Sarah 995S a Jan. 4, 2006 daughter of TUBB Laredo, she was bred to calve this spring to Clear Creek Shipman 187S. This lot sold to Steve Schneider for $1,500. Les Olsen, LACO Limousin, Mayetta bought the top selling fall bred female Lot #42 for $1,500. LEON Black Gold 107 a 4-17-01 daughter of JCL Black Gold sold bred to Master Brun Anapolis. This female was consigned by Leishman Performance Limousin. The top selling fall pair brought $1,875 and was consigned by Blazin K Limousin, Moundridge. BKBS 300 L is a Oct. 20, 2001 daughter of Wulfs Fanfare, she sold bred to MAGS Regal Folk for a fall calf. Michael Boyer, Longford bought her for $1,250. Her Sept. 17, 2007 black heifer calf sired by MAGS Regal Folk sold to Jared Pfeifer of Ellis for $625. The highest selling spring pair sold for $1,800 to Cherry Creek Farms, Westphalia. Crow Cattle Company consigned this nice pair-Clear Creek Paris a May 5, 2004 purebred Clear Creek Patriot daughter; at side was a 50 percent black bull calf. 5/5/08 Date: 5/1/08
