Insecticide receives label expansion for soybeans

FMC Corporation, Philadelphia, recently announced its Hero insecticide has received an expanded label that allows it to be used to control foliar pests in soybeans and root and tuber crops.

Hero uses unique pyrethroid technology, and can control mites as well as other foliar insects. Its dual mode of action lets growers deliver a one-two punch against foliar pests.

Hero offers flexible foliar application and is approved for use to control soybean aphids, beet armyworm, fall armyworm, velvetbean caterpillar, thrips, cabbage looper, Japanese beetle (adults), stink bugs and army cutworms, and others. In addition, Hero provides excellent control of mites without flaring them.

Growers can use Hero at rates ranging from 4.0 oz/A to 10.3 oz/A, depending upon the level of insect infestation and targeted pest spectrum. Hero carries a "caution" signal word and a re-entry interval (REI) of 12 hours.
