Grain market close

The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for April 28, reported in futures trading that Chicago May soft red winter wheat was $8.26, up 25 1/2 cents; May corn, $6, up 22 33/4 cents; and July soybeans, $12.97 1/2, down 39 1/2 cents.

The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $8.80 to $9.31 3/4, down 15 to up 16 3/4 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge was unavailable; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $6.28, up 20 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $10.89 to $11.16, up 40 to 41 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, was not available; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $13.31 1/2 to $13.35 1/2, down 42 1 1/4 cents.

Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $7.78.

In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $7.83 to $8.08.

No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado was 22 cents lower.

In north central Colorado, wheat was $7.61 to $7.93.

In northeast Colorado, wheat was $7.63 to $7.90.

In east central Colorado, wheat was $7.58 to $7.83.

In southeast Colorado, wheat was $7.55 to $7.78.

In south central Colorado, wheat was $7.68.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $7.63 to $7.93.

No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was mostly 9 cents lower and $5.43 to $5.95 per bushel.

In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $5.39 to $5.70.

In east central Colorado, corn was $5.44 to $5.49.

In southeast Colorado, corn was $5.32 to $5.77.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $5.38 to $5.49 per bushel.

No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was 16 cents lower at $9.13 to $9.48 per cwt.

No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska was 1 to 18 cents lower at $11.05 to $11.30 per bushel.

White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $11 to $11.75 per cwt., mostly $11.75.

Sunflowers were $28 to $29 cwt.

In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $5.43 to $5.95 per bushel. Barley was steady at $9.

In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $30 to $32 per cwt. Great Northerns were steady at $38 per cwt. Light red kidneys were steady at $45 to $48 per cwt.
