Georgia cattle auction summaryThe summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending April 25, showed receipts of 10,541 head, compared to 9,502 head last week and 14,193 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga. Compared to one week ago, slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher, bulls were mostly steady, feeder steers were $1 to $2 higher, heifers were $1 to $4 higher, steer calves and heifer calves were $1 to $3 higher, replacement cows were steady to $3 higher. The offering included 7% steers over 600 pounds, 33% steers under 600 pounds, 6% heifers over 600 pounds, 25% heifers under 600 pounds, 10% feeder cows, 17% slaughter cows, and 2% bulls.
