Ericson livestock auction

The Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 2,700 head April 26, compared to 3,000 head two weeks ago and 2,700 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared to the previous sale, grass-type calves under 700 pounds trended $6 to $8 higher, with one-iron, load lots leading the advance. Weights over 700 pounds traded $4 to $6 higher. Receipts consisted of 51% steers and 49% heifers, 49% over 600 pounds.
