Colorado cattle sales report

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 2,586 head April 25, compared to 3,157 head last week and 3,695 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold steady to $2 higher instances of $3 higher, full incline as the week progressed. Heifers sold steady to $1 higher. Demand was good for all classes. Increased buyer demand for smaller packages of cattle suitable for grass. The supply was made up of 57% feeder steers, balance feeder heifers, with about 60% of total feeder supply was over 600 pounds.
