Antique Tractor and Power Show set June 7 in BrushColorado The Cottonwood Forge Antique Tractor and Power Show will be held again at the same location as last year, I-76 and exit 89 at Brush, Colo., June 7. Last year's show was the first show of this nature in the Brush area, and show organizer and promoter, Sam Dembitsky, was very pleased with the success of the show. About midway through last year's show, it was decided to make the show an annual event. The second annual show will again be geared toward the display of antique tractors, stationary engines, and demonstrations of related antique equipment of yesteryear. Dembitsky says this year's show will have several new events. A garden tractor-tractor pull, a poker run and tractor driving skill games will be held for the tractor exhibitors, as well as the parade of power. Live entertainment will include a three-man band playing, singing, yodeling and some story telling, all of the yesteryear era. An "Olde Tyme" dress/costume contest will also be a new event this year. This will be open to the general public and judging will be for the best dressed old farmer and farmer's wife. You may want to call for more information on this event. A chuck wagon cooking demonstration will be on hand, provided by Ray Stokes of Sidney, Neb. Stokes has competed in several chuck wagon cook-off competitions and done very well. Visitors will enjoy watching and visiting with Stokes and listening to the stories he will tell. The Knights of Columbus will begin serving breakfast at 6 a.m., and lunch throughout the day. Chef Charles of South Carolina will also serve lunch and the late afternoon barbecue. The event is open to the public, with no admission charge and no exhibitor fee, but food and drinks will be charged for, by the vendors. For more information, you may contact Sam Dembitsky at 970-842-3696. 5/5/08 Date: 4/30/08 Advertisement
