Aberdeen cattle sales report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 6,002 head April 30, compared to 4,853 head last week and 4,142 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold $3 to $5 higher. Heifers sold $2 to $4 higher. Demand was good, with many of the offerings sold in load lots. Steers comprised 48% of the run, heifers 52%, with 94% over 600 pounds.
