Woodward cattle sales report

The Woodward Livestock Market, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 9,150 head May 16, compared to 7,363 last week and 11,751 last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week feeder steers were steady to $1 higher, except steers over 900 pounds were $2 to $4 higher. Feeder heifers were steady to $3 higher. Stocker steers and steer calves were $2 to $4 higher. Heifer calves were $1 to $4 higher. Demand was good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average to full, with few gaunt. The supply included 71 percent steers, 27 percent heifers with 92 percent over 600 pounds.
