Pritz named to AgriLife Extension post in Taylor County

Texas

Robert K. Pritz will become the Texas AgriLife Extension Service's new agriculture and natural resources agent for Taylor County effective May 19, according to Taylor County Judge George Newman and Scott Durham, district AgriLife Extension administrator at San Angelo.

The new agent transfers from Callahan County where he has served since 1997.

"Robert is the ideal candidate for this, one of the state's key counties," Durham said. "His outstanding quality of work has been a mainstay throughout his career. We are most pleased that he will remain in our district and transfer his high work standards and strong ethics to maintain and bolster Taylor County's exemplary AgriLife Extension program."

Pritz earned a master of science degree in range science from Texas Tech University in 1995 and a bachelor of science degree in animal science from Angelo State University in 1993.

He began his AgriLife Extension career in Wise County in 1995 before transferring to Callahan County. He has been very active in community development and 4-H youth programming efforts throughout his career, Durham said.

Pritz holds professional memberships in the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association and the National Association of County Agricultural Agents. He is also the recipient of numerous professional association awards. Among these are the Distinguished Achievement Award - Community Development, which is given by the Texas Extension Specialists Association, and the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association's achievement award as well as its new agent award.

Pritz fills the position formerly held by Gary Bomar, who retired Dec. 31, 2007.
