Presho cattle sales report

The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 700 head May 15, compared to 2,098 head two weeks ago, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Trends were not applicable due to a light supply this week, although a strong undertone was noted. Some potloads were on offer. The offering was composed of 23% steers, 77% heifers, with 92% 600 pounds and over. This is probably the last sale of the season.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 16 head, 664 lbs., 118.00; 17 head, 716 to 741 lbs., 113.75 to 115.00 (114.47); 67 head, 811 lbs., 111.60. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 824 to 830 lbs., 97.00 to 100.75 (100.08).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 566 to 596 lbs., 113.00; 611 to 644 lbs., 111.25 to 114.25 (112.99); 651 to 661 lbs., 112.00; 48 head, 703 lbs., 105.75; 74 head, 774 lbs., 103.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 537 lbs., 109.00; 37 head, 645 lbs., 107.25; 869 to 899 lbs., 92.75 to 94.80 (93.43).
