Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 6,248 head, May 15, compared to 4,466 head, last week and 5,231 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, steers at 300 to 750 pounds were $2 to $3 higher in an extremely light supply, 750 to 900 pounds were $3 to $4 higher, 900 to 950 pounds were firm, and 950 to 1050 pounds were $3.50 to $4.50 higher. Heifers at 300 to 650 pounds were not enough for a market test, and 650 to 950 pounds were $3 to $5 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Receipts included 89% 600 pounds and over, 5% 600 pounds and under, 6% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 51% steers and 49% heifers.
