June 3 distillers grain meeting scheduled in JetmoreKansas Are you thinking about purchasing distillers grain at a lower price in the off season? In an era of high corn prices and rising input costs, livestock producers are learning new methods of reducing waste in their feed rations, targeting the use of costly corn, hay and forage. K-State Research and Extension Hodgeman County will offer a free informational meeting to the public with a Distillers Grain Storage and Livestock Update June 3, 2 p.m., at the 4-H Building in Jetmore. Speakers Justin Waggoner, Ph.D, SW Area Extension Beef Specialist, Stan O'Neill, Pfizer representative and DeWayne Craghead, County Extension Agent will discuss livestock issues and solutions available to producers when purchasing distillers grain at a lower price in the off season. Sponsoring the event are the Extension Councils of Hodgeman, Ford, Gray, Edwards and Pawnee Counties.
