Dodge City livestock sales reportDodge City Winter Livestock, Inc., reported receipts of 3,703 head May 14, compared to 3,656 head last week and 3,049 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers 750 to 1000 pounds were $3 to $5 higher, heifers 800 to 950 pounds were $3 to $4 higher, steers 300 to 750 pounds and 300 to 800 pounds in a very limited supply were firm to $2 higher. Slaughter cows were $2 to $3 higher. Slaughter bulls were $2 to $4 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Receipts included 71% 600 pounds and over, 10% 600 pounds and under, 10% cow/calf pairs and 9% slaughter cows and bulls with 345 head, early. The feeder supply included 57% steers and 43% heifers.
