Dates set for Montana's 5th annual Young Ag Leadership ConferenceMontana Mark your calendars now for the fifth annual Young Agriculture Leadership Conference to be held Oct. 3 to 5 at the Holiday Inn in Bozeman. This conference targets agriculture's next generation of leaders, ages 18 to 40, from across the state to gather the skills and experiences that they will need to be successful industry leaders. "We are excited again this year to be working with seven of Montana's most influential agricultural organizations to put this conference together," said Todd Smith, YALC Planning Committee chair from Great Falls. "This conference is taking important steps that will change the way our industry works together in the future. All sectors of agriculture are encouraged to attend, from production to agri-business to college students, this conference gives young ag leaders the opportunity to interact and learn new ways to impact and strengthen agriculture in Montana." Attendees will be offered workshops on marketing and finance issues, emerging technologies, personal leadership development, family communications and issues management. In addition, many dynamic keynote speakers will address the conference. The very popular current issues discussion groups will return--moderated by leading industry experts on both the state and national levels. The conference will also feature a number of networking opportunities. The planning committee for the event consists of one young member from each of the seven organizations, which include the Montana 4-H Foundation, Montana Cattlemen's Association, Montana Grain Growers Association, Montana Farm Bureau Federation, Montana FFA Foundation, Montana State University College of Agriculture and the c. "By crossing organization and commodity lines, young agriculturists have a unique opportunity for interaction that they might not experience in other venues," adds Jessica Kirschten, YALC co-chair from Baker. "I encourage everyone to plan now to attend; it is an experience you don't want to miss."
