Colorado cattle sales reportThe Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., May 16, reported receipts of 1,101 head, compared to 2,181 head last week and 1,950 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, feeder steers sold steady to $1 higher. Feeder heifers sold steady to $2 higher. Demand was good for all classes. The greatest interest was in cattle under 600 pounds with yearling steers and heifers scarce. Minimal receipt numbers experienced at several barns due to coverage conclusion until late summer or early fall. The supply was made up of 50% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 28% of the total feeder supply over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 400 to 450 lbs., 121.00 to 125.00; 450 to 470 lbs., 124.00 to 128.00; 500 to 545 lbs., 121.00 to 123.50; 560 to 570 lbs., 119.00 to 124.00; package 638 lbs., 120.00; 660 to 670 lbs., 114.50 to 117.00; part load 1044 lbs., 85.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 330 to 340 lbs., 126.00 to 129.00; 370 to 380 lbs., 118.00 to 128.00; 520 to 540 lbs., 116.00 to 119.00; 570 to 590 lbs., 112.00 to 117.00; few 670 lbs., 105.00. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, package 368 lbs., 122.50; 430 to 440 lbs., 115.50 to 116.00; 450 to 480 lbs., 111.00 to 114.50; 510 to 540 lbs., 110.00 to 114.50; 560 to 570 lbs., 107.00 to 109.50; 620 to 650 lbs., 100.00 to 105.50; 670 to 700 lbs., 99.00 to 101.00; part load 781 lbs., 96.50.
