Youth tractor drivers safety course and certification set May 16

Kansas

Federal legislation has made it unlawful for 14- and 15-year-old youth to be hired to operate farm machinery off the family farm without first being certified.

The Grant County Extension Office is sponsoring a Tractor Drivers Safety Course and Certification for 14- and 15-year-olds, May 16 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and concluding May 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The course is to be held in the Meeting Room of the Grant County Extension Office, 1100 West Patterson Ave., in Ulysses. Participation fee is $15.

Those interest are asked to pre-register by 5 p.m., May 14 by calling the Grant County Extension Office at 620-356-1721.
