Wyobraska cattle sales reportThe combined sales volume of Wyoming, western Nebraska and western North and South Dakota auctions for the week ending May 10, totaled 825 head, compared to 3,500 head last week and 3,600 head last year, according to the USDA-Wyoming Department of Agriculture Market News, Torrington, Wyo. Compared to last week at Wyoming auctions, feeder steers and heifers were not well tested. Demand was moderate to good. Direct trading was slow this week with no comparison available except for a few steers steady. Demand was light. Buyer inquiry was light to moderate on light offerings. Unless otherwise noted direct prices were current FOB with a 2 to 3% shrink or equivalent and with a 5 to 10 cent from base weight. Steers made up approximately 50% of the supply, heifers 50%, with 100% over 600 pounds. Direct sales accounted for 675 head of the total receipts. Steers: Auctions, Medium and large frame 1, 625 to 640 lbs., 111.00 to 112.00; 790 lbs., 98.00. Large frame 2, 715 lbs., 46.00. Direct, Medium and large frame 1, FOB price, 760 lbs., 98.00. Delivered price, fancy 950 lbs., 99.25. Heifers: Auctions, Medium and large frame 1, 450 lbs., 114.50; 515 lbs., 111.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 385 lbs., 121.50.
