Watertown cattle sales report

The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 875 head May 14, compared to 1,400 head last week, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 higher. Feeder steers made up 69% while feeder heifers made up 31%, with 90% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 655 lbs., 116.00; 15 head, 734 lbs., 115.00; 15 head, 807 lbs., 107.00; 18 head, 858 to 882 lbs., 100.75 to 101.50 (101.17); 925 to 933 lbs., 99.70 to 100.10 (99.82); 28 head, 965 lbs., 97.75; 6 head, 1023 lbs., 93.25; 1050 to 1098 lbs., 92.80 to 95.40 (94.39); 1114 to 1129 lbs., 92.00 to 92.70 (92.46). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 921 to 944 lbs., 90.25 to 94.25 (92.75); 22 head, 1119 lbs., 85.25.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 456 to 464 lbs., 64.00 to 66.00 (65.39); 9 head, 529 lbs., 59.50 to 61.00 (60.50); 554 to 563 lbs., 65.50 to 65.75 (65.56); 10 head, 600 to 602 lbs., 57.50 to 57.75 (57.62).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 11 head, 611 lbs., 112.50 replacement; 15 head, 726 to 745 lbs., 97.75 to 103.25 (101.81); 12 head, 754 lbs., 97.25; 807 to 847 lbs., 91.00 to 95.50 (94.25); 865 to 890 lbs., 94.75 to 95.25 (94.99); 18 head, 853 lbs., 97.00 replacement; 907 to 910 lbs., 92.50 to 95.00 (94.38). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 14 head, 762 to 788 lbs., 92.00; 910 to 928 lbs., 82.00 to 87.75 (85.67); 26 head, 1025 lbs., 87.25.
