Sprngfield livestock salesThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 1,837 head May 7, compared to 1,981 head last week and 2,045 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers and heifers were steady following last week's sharp upturn, Holsteins were $2 to $4 lower on a very light test. Demand and supply were moderate. A Wean-vac sale was held in conjunction with the regular feeder cattle sale. The feeder supply included 42% steers 5% Holsteins, 45% heifers, 8% bulls, with 39% over 600 pounds.
