Colorado feeder cattle salesThe Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 2,181 head May 9, compared to 2,033 head last week and 9,200 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold unevenly steady with several barns in limited tests. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. There was increased buyer demand for cattle weighing over 700 pounds. Numbers at several barns have lightened with some ending coverage until late summer/early fall. The supply was made up of 43% feeder steers, the balance feeder heifers, with about 43% of total feeder supply was over 600 pounds.
