Clovis cattle sales report

The Clovis Livestock Auction Co., Clovis, N.M., reported estimated receipts of 1,400 head May 14, according to the USDA-New Mexico Department of Agriculture Market News, Clovis, N.M.

Compared to last week, steers under 500 pounds were steady to $2 higher on limited receipts, over 500 pounds were $5 to $6 higher. Heifers were $3 to $5 higher.

Steers: Medium and large frame 1, few 500 to 550 lbs., 122.25 to 123.00; package 645 lbs., 112.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400 to 450 lbs., 126.00 to 129.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 118.00 to 121.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 114.50 to 123.25; 600 to 700 lbs., 107.50 to 115.75; lot 759 lbs., 106.75. Medium and large frame 2, package 552 lbs., 115.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 106.00 to 111.00; package 760 lbs., 104.00.

Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 400 to 500 lbs., 109.50 to 114.00; lot 546 lbs., 108.50; few 600 to 650 lbs., 102.00 to 105.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 107.50 to 112.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 103.00 to 107.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 99.00 to 106.00; package 730 lbs., 100.50. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 110.00 to 113.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 100.50 to 107.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 97.00 to 106.00; lot 740 lbs., 99.50.
