Texhoma livestock sales

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 650 head May 7, compared to 580 head last week and 1,422 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady in a limited test. There was no test on steer and heifer calves. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average. The supply included 69% steers, 30% heifers with 82% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. A total of 55 cows and bulls sold with 83% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 476 lbs., 119.50; 11 head, 641 lbs., 112.50; 767 to 781 lbs., 106.75 to 109.50 (108.93); 59 head, 874 lbs., 105.75. Medium and large frame 2, 9 head, 414 to 428 lbs., 116.50 to 118.00 (117.32); 676 to 696 lbs., 103.50 to 107.00 (106.50); 763 to 771 lbs., 102.50 to 104.60 (104.44). Medium and large frame 3, 6 head, 633 lbs., 103.00. Small and medium frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 535 lbs., 110.00. Small and medium frame 4, 14 head, 423 lbs., 70.00; 14 head, 509 lbs., 90.00; 14 head, 560 lbs., 80.50; 27 head, 607 lbs., 80.25.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 424 lbs., 122.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 564 lbs., 108.75; 13 head, 673 lbs., 101.50; 70 head, 738 lbs., 102.00; 10 head, 845 lbs., 90.00. Medium and large frame 2, 7 head, 500 lbs., 100.00; 19 head, 607 to 610 lbs., 97.00 to 100.00 (98.90); 5 head, 707 lbs., 99.00; 7 head, 788 lbs., 96.50.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 2 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1100 to 1500 lbs., 55.00 to 57.75. Boners, 15 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1400 lbs., 54.00 to 57.00; high dressing, 59.00 to 60.25; low dressing, 51.00 to 53.50. Lean, 20 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 52.00 to 54.50; high dressing, 56.00 to 57.75; low dressing, 50.00 to 50.75.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 9 head, 1400 to 2200 lbs., 69.00 to 70.50; high dressing, 71.50 to 72.00; low dressing, 60.00 to 63.50.
