Texhoma livestock salesThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 650 head May 7, compared to 580 head last week and 1,422 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady in a limited test. There was no test on steer and heifer calves. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average. The supply included 69% steers, 30% heifers with 82% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. A total of 55 cows and bulls sold with 83% going to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 476 lbs., 119.50; 11 head, 641 lbs., 112.50; 767 to 781 lbs., 106.75 to 109.50 (108.93); 59 head, 874 lbs., 105.75. Medium and large frame 2, 9 head, 414 to 428 lbs., 116.50 to 118.00 (117.32); 676 to 696 lbs., 103.50 to 107.00 (106.50); 763 to 771 lbs., 102.50 to 104.60 (104.44).
