South Central direct sheep sales report

The South Central Direct Sheep sales for the week ending May 2, showed receipts of 500 head of feeder lambs, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week feeder lambs were steady. There were no slaughter lambs, slaughter ewes or slaughter meat goats. Replacement goats were not tested. Trading and demand were moderate. Numbers of available feeder lambs are increasing but most producers are taking advantage of available feed because of the lack of price differential due to weight.

Feeder lambs: Texas, 500 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, new crop 70 to 90 lbs., 114.00 to 115.00; 90 to 95 lbs., 112.00.
