Presho livestock sales report

The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 2,098 head May 1, compared to 1,237 head last week and 1,400 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady except for heifers 750 pounds and over sold $1 to $3 lower. The offering included 65% steers, 35% heifers with 83% 600 pounds and over. This will be the last feeder sale of the season.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 12 head, 428 lbs., 125.00; 462 to 499 lbs., 119.75 to 128.50 (123.00); 550 to 576 lbs., 116.00 to 119.50 (117.65); 602 to 626 lbs., 114.50 to 118.50 (115.90); 656 to 699 lbs., 109.75 to 118.75 (111.11); 710 to 741 lbs., 108.00 to 110.50 (109.57); 755 to 785 lbs., 107.60 to 109.35 (108.49); 821 to 834 lbs., 105.35 to 107.85 (106.71); 865 to 882 lbs., 103.35 to 105.10 (104.22); 904 to 915 lbs., 100.10 to 100.60 (100.35). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 627 lbs., 110.25; 6 head, 660 lbs., 104.75.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 26 head, 468 lbs., 114.00; 509 to 538 lbs., 108.00 to 115.25 (110.98); 573 to 596 lbs., 108.50 to 112.75 (110.81); 609 to 641 lbs., 103.25 to 109.00 (108.06); 661 to 665 lbs., 102.00 to 103.75 (102.90); 734 to 738 lbs., 101.25 to 103.00 (101.83); 759 to 778 lbs., 93.00 to 97.35 (95.01); 10 head, 832 lbs., 92.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 24 head, 519 lbs., 106.50; 18 head, 690 lbs., 99.25.
