Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 4,314 head May 1, compared to 4,708 head last week and 3,855 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, steers at 300 to 600 pounds and heifers at 300 to 650 pounds were steady to weak in a light supply. Steers at 600 to 700 pounds were $2 to $3 higher, 700 to 800 pounds were $2 to $3 lower, and 800 to 1000 pounds were steady to $1 higher. Heifers at 650 to 850 pounds were steady to $3 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls $2 higher. Receipts included 72% 600 pounds and over, 20% 600 lbs., and under, 8% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 63% steers and 37% heifers.
