Dodge City livestock sales reportDodge City Winter Livestock Inc., reported receipts of 3,299 head April 30, compared to 3,089 head last week and 4,032 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers at 300 to 600 pounds and heifers at 300 to 550 pounds were not enough for a market test, and limited sales were steady. Steers at 600 to 700 pounds were firm, and 700 to 1,000 pounds were $3 to $5 higher compared to last week limited supply. Heifers at 550 to 700 pounds were $2 to $4 higher, and 700 to 900 pounds were $3 to $6 higher. Slaughter cows were firm to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. Trade was active, demand was good. Receipts included 59% 600 pounds and over, 15% 600 pounds and under, 12% bred cows and cow/calf pairs, 14% slaughter cows and bulls with 477 head, early. The feeder supply was 63% steers and 37% heifers.
