Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 1,551 head May 1, compared to 1,132 head last week and 1,058 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers under 600 pounds were steady, very firm undertone on feeders over 600 pounds compared to last week's limited offering. Slaughter cows and bulls were firm to $2 higher. Trade was active. Demand was good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 250- to 850-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 20% of the offering, slaughter bulls 1%, replacement cows 1%, and feeders 78%. The feeder supply included 51% steers and 49% heifers, with nearly 32% of the run weighed over 600 pounds. Steers: Medium and large frame 1, three packages, 237 to 299 lbs., 150.00 to 167.50; 300 to 400 lbs., 135.00 to 141.00, package 327 lbs., 146.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 125.00 to 128.00, package 401 lbs., 135.00; two lots 567 to 598 lbs., 111.50 to 121.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 105.00 to 111.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 102.00 to 106.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 100.00 to 100.10.
