Arkansas livestock auction summaryThe weekly summary of livestock sales in Arkansas for the week ending May 1, showed estimated receipts of 8,095 head, compared to 8,773 head last week and 8,922 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Little Rock, Ark Compared to last week, slaughter cows sold steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls sold steady to firm. Feeders sold firm to $3 higher. The supply was composed of 4,615 stocker and feeder calves, 1,660 feeder yearlings, 825 replacement cows, 865 slaughter cows and 130 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 45% yearling heifers. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 47.00 to 53.00; high dressing, 53.00 to 57.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 47.00 to 53.00; high dressing, 53.00 to 60.50; low dressing, 42.00 to 47.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 43.00 to 49.00; high dressing, 49.00 to 57.50; low dressing, 36.00 to 43.00.
