Watertown livestock salesThe South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 875 head March 26, compared to 950 head last week and 1,475 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder heifers were steady, while feeder steers were $2 to $3 lower. Feeder steers made up 60% of the sale, feeder heifers 50% with 91% of the offerings over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 8 head, 500 lbs., 125.50; 555 to 582 lbs., 119.75 to 126.00 (121.53); 13 head, 689 lbs., 103.75; 18 head, 700 to 710 lbs., 97.00; 754 to 759 lbs., 96.75 to 99.00 (98.45); 817 to 842 lbs., 94.00 to 94.50 (94.11); 859 to 889 lbs., 86.10 to 93.20 (90.25); 25 head, 939 lbs., 87.10 fleshy; 966 to 976 lbs., 86.50 to 87.10 (86.95); 5 head, 1001 lbs., 84.25.
