Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,078 head March 24, compared to 1,995 head last week and 1,964 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, feeder cattle and calves were steady with very good demand for light weight cattle. Weigh-ups were mostly average. Good attendance of buyers. Some areas still very wet or flooded. Receipts included 52% steers, 38% heifers, 9% bulls, with 24% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $2 to $3 higher. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. Packer demand was very good. A total of 209 cows and bulls sold with 55% going to packers.
