Texhoma cattle sales report

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 2,439 head March 26, compared to 1,975 head last week and 2,560 head last year, according to the USDA to Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Steer and heifer calves in a limited test but a lower undertone was noted. Demand was good for feeders, moderate for calves. Weigh-ups were average, few full. The supply included 29% steers, 69% heifers with 90% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 82 cows and bulls sold with 50% going to packers.
