St. Onge livestock sales reportThe St. Onge Livestock Sales Co., Ltd., St. Onge, S.D., reported receipts of 1,305 head March 21, compared to 603 head last week and 975 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers sold unevenly steady. Slaughter cows and feeder cows sold mostly steady with last week. Slaughter bulls too few to test. Buyer attendance moderate with moderate to good demand. Feeder receipts included 39% steers and 61% heifers, with 57% over 600 pounds. Receipts included about 80% feeder cattle, 7% slaughter cows and bulls, 6% bred cows, 5% feeder cows and the balance was breeding bulls.
