Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 5,589 head March 20, compared to 5,463 head last week and 4,418 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, steers at 300 to 600 pounds were steady, 650 to 850 pounds were steady to $1 lower, and 850 to 1000 pounds were steady to $1 higher. Heifers at 300 to 600 pounds were $4 lower, 600 to 900 pounds were $1 to $2 lower, and 900 to 950 pounds were steady. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows were $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. Receipts included 87% 600 pounds and over, 10% 600 pounds and under, 3% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 55% heifers and 45% steers.
