Georgia cattle summary report

The summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending March 21, totaled 10,059 head, compared to 11,040 head last week and 11,135 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga.

Compared to one week ago, slaughter cows were $1 to $3 lower, bulls were steady to $2 lower, feeder steers were $2 to $5 lower, heifers were $2 to $3 lower, steer calves were $3 to $5 lower, heifer calves were $2 to $6 lower, replacement cows were $1 to $3 lower. The offering included 8% steers over 600 pounds, 32% steers under 600 pounds, 6% heifers over 600 pounds 27% heifers under 600 pounds, 11% feeder cows, 15% slaughter cows and 2% bulls.
