"If you are thinking of starting a food processing business or would like to know more about marketing food products, this workshop is a great first step," said Wendy White, marketing specialist for the Colorado Department of Agriculture. "Our goal is to help companies identify effective ways to market their products."

The one-day workshop features practical advice from professionals in brand building, promotions, marketing plan development, retail, food safety and labeling. In addition to the presentations, participants will also have an opportunity to learn from their peers by networking with representatives from other food processing companies.

Speakers include Rebekah Spetnagel and Julie Bush, On The Menu; Dr. Dawn Thilmany, Colorado State University; John Recca, BrandWerks Group; Kuvy Ax, Fresh Ideas Group; Eric Clayman, Udi's Foods; Sally Haines, Colorado Farmers' Market Association; Bonnie Smith, Goodness to Go; Rob Smith, Micro Business Development and Natasha Calvert, Whole Foods Market.

The registration fee is $35 per person if postmarked by April 11 and $45 after the deadline. Registration includes the program, information packet, continental breakfast and lunch.
