American Simmental Association schedules SimPlace 2008, a 40-year celebration

The American Simmental Association marks its 40th anniversary in conjunction with SimPlace 2008, highlighting "The Science of Making Better Cattle and Better Beef." SimPlace will be held April 8 and 9, in Urbana, Ill., at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center.

The schedule features a tour of the University of Illinois Research Center; the site of a joint ASA/UI feed efficiency research trial. Conference seminars conducted by some of the nation's most distinguished animal scientists will focus on efficiency, genetics, and relating them to profitability. The evening reception on April 8 will commemorate the 40th anniversary of ASA.

The early registration deadline is March 14. The registration form and schedule can be found at www.simmental.org and in the February 2008 edition of ASA publication, The Register. Call ASA at 406-587-4531 for more information.
