Amarillo Livestock Auction reportThe Amarillo Livestock Auction, Amarillo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,022 head March 25, compared to 970 head last week and 1,085 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers under 700 pounds and heifers under 600 pounds were steady, steers over 700 pounds and heifers over 600 lbs., 1.00 to 4.00 higher. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 lower. Slaughter bulls not enough for an adequate test. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Trade and demand were moderate. Slaughter cows made up 5% of the offering, slaughter bulls less than 1/2%, replacement cows 3% and feeders 91%. The feeder supply included 63% steers and 37% heifers, with nearly 81% over 600 pounds.
