EquiFest of Kansas 2008: 3 days of equine education, excitement, entertainment

Horse lovers from all over the Midwest will come together Feb. 29 to March 2, at the Kansas Coliseum in Wichita, for EquiFest of Kansas 2008 presented by Shepler's.

This celebration of horses, now in its eleventh year, is historically one of the largest events in Wichita every year. Last year more than 17,000 people attended the event. EquiFest attendees this year can explore a gigantic trade show, and can enjoy equine entertainment, top-notch clinicians, lectures and workshops. It's a fun-filled family event for equine enthusiasts.

EquiFest of Kansas presented by Shepler's, will offer a wide variety of unusual and exciting equine entertainment, including Dancing Horses. Al Ragusin and his Dancing Horses will provide precision movements, with lighthearted entertainment to music, while Regina Ware and her horses offer sophisticated syncopation, like ballet on horseback. Costumed steeds, authentic weaponry, and noble knights in shining armor will allow EquiFest attendees to step back in time as Hanlon-Lees presents the pageantry of 14th Century Jousting. And watch the precision of high speed riding and black powder pistol shooting from horseback, as Cowboy Mounted Shooters show off their skills.

Horse enthusiasts at EquiFest will discover a giant equine trade show that fills an entire building. Dozens of commercial booths will offer clothing, tack, feed, equipment, home décor items, gifts, horse trailers, and countless equine products and services.

Lecture and workshop topics at EquiFest will cover a wide range of topics. Among subjects covered will be improving riding, horse training, use of horse equipment and how a horse learns, among other topics. A schedule of events is available on-line, and is also provided in a free program available at the event.
