Colorado feeder cattle report

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., Feb. 22, reported receipts of 5,383 head, compared to 5,360 head last week and 4,630 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold steady to $2 higher. Feeder heifers sold steady to $1 higher, instances of $2 to $3 higher on cattle weighing over 500 pounds. There was increased interest on feeders weighing 500 to 600 pounds. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. The supply was made up of 56% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 64% over 600 pounds.

Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350 to 400 lbs., 133.50 to 139.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 118.00 to 129.00; 506 to 550 lbs., 110.50 to 121.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 111.00 to 116.00; 600 to 650 lb. calves 103.00 to 114.00; 650 to 700 lb. calves 100.00 to 103.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 100.50 to 104.50; 750 to 800 lbs., 93.00 to 97.50; 800 to 900 lbs., 91.50 to 92.00; 965 lbs., 87.00.
