Watertown cattle sales reportThe South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 950 head March 19, compared to 1,270 head last week and 1,650 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady, while feeder heifers were $1 to $2 lower. Feeder steers made up 69% of the sale, feeder heifers 31%, with 78% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 465 to 497 lbs., 127.00 to 128.00 (127.32); 509 to 539 lbs., 125.50 to 128.90 (128.41); 570 to 584 lbs., 121.50 to 122.00 (121.76); 612 to 623 lbs., 116.00 to 116.10 (116.09); 651 to 686 lbs., 105.00 to 111.25 (109.48); 704 to 737 lbs., 101.00 to 104.50 (103.39); 32 head, 780 lbs., 101.25; 803 to 836 lbs., 91.10 to 96.00 (92.95); 864 to 886 lbs., 91.10 to 92.70 (91.55); 16 head, 929 lbs., 87.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 15 head, 400 to 407 lbs., 120.00 to 121.00 (120.67); 7 head, 514 lbs., 118.00; 9 head, 560 to 591 lbs., 105.50 to 108.00 (106.64); 5 head, 737 lbs., 98.00; 758 to 785 lbs., 94.00 to 95.50 (94.63); 14 head, 859 to 877 lbs., 84.75 to 85.00 (84.93).
