Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc, Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 5,463 head March 13, compared to 5,161 head last week, and 4,459 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, steers at 300 to 650 pounds and heifers at 300 to 600 pounds were steady to weak. Steers at 650 to 700 pounds were $1 lower, 700 to 750 pounds were $2 higher, and 750 to 1000 pound were steady. Heifers at 600 to 750 pounds were steady, 750 to 850 pounds were $1 to $2 lower, and 850 to 950 pounds were steady to $2 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows and bulls were $1 lower. Receipts included 76% 600 pounds and over, 18% 600 pounds and under, 6% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 51% steers and 49% heifers.
